Hi there, I will be honest. I am really surprised that you want to quit this job, because you have been such a reliable and hard-working employee. I have heard about your concerns and I still would like to ask you to stay with us by addressing those concerns. First of all, it is a normal thing to be confused about the compensation plan at first and it is my apologies to not make it clear from the beginning. However, this is something we can work on together. I can assure you that the company is doing its best to be transparent with our employees and in no way will we try to trick with our employees. I could go over the compensation structure with you one more time if you would like any clarification.
I know you are still in school and balancing school and work is a hard job. However, the more experience you accumulate on your resume while you are in school, the more opportunity it provides you when you graduate. You are in your senior year and stressing about school is perfectly normal. However, from a working professional’s advice, this is also a critical time for you to land a job after graduation. Now that you have made it this far, a consistent working experience shows a recruiter about your perseverance and commitment to an organization. We have been working together for quite some time and I think highly of your performance and work ethics. I have faith in your growth within the company. I did not become a supervisor overnight. I was in your shoes many years ago, but I pulled through and got where I am right now, and I believe if you do the same, you will succeed here as well. There are certain qualities that the company evaluate before we make a promotion decision, because we need time to see if a candidate is qualified. Normally, at the end of the year, which is coming up, we will start giving performance reviews of some qualified candidates for potential promotion. Most management level within the company starts as a salesperson like you, and then get to supervisor level and eventually to management level.
I am glad we had this talk and I hope you can rethink your decision. I am not just asking you to stay for me, or for the company. I am asking you to stay because it will also be good for your own career development in the future.
